| Introduction:

Hamirpur District lies in the western part of Himachal Pradesh.
It falls in the upper middle shivalik zone and is full of small
mountains. It is bounded by Mandi district on the East, Kangra
district on the north- west, Una district on the south- west and
Bilaspur district on the south. The altitude of the district varies
from 2000 feet to 3500 feet above mean sea level.
